It's the incredible, imploding, aging legal industry.

316 million people in the USA now. The whole "legal services sector" amounts to about 1/2 of 1% of the population.
ReplyDeleteWhen the 'sector' is shedding -4,500 in ONE DAMN MONTH, that is equal to 1/2 a percent of all the damn jobs in the whole sector which - as you know - includes court reporter and file-stamper-employed-by-the-state.
What a fucking stank pile of inexorable decline!
At least the up-and-coming crop of freshly minted J.D.'s and would-be- licensed-attorneys are 128 LSAT elites who will readily adapt to their poverty and find a way to pay Uncle Sam (and the janitors he robbed to finance this shit) back.
But, alas, the elite will compete with the janitors for jobs and the fraudsters will walk away, unless someone decides to go Bolshevik on their asses.
Actually, that's 4500 jobs in a year. The legal industry lost 1,400 jobs in the month of January.
ReplyDeleteI expect losses to continue indefinitely as legal workers leave for economic sectors with better prospects.
